Holiday at an organic farm.
This is what we and our hotel represent.
Welcome to our accommodation at Faaker See at Biohof Naturzeit Faaker See,
Enjoy your Slow Food organic holiday at our little non-smoking hotel at Faaker See in beautiful Carinthia and spend the most enjoyable time of the year in an informal and cordial atmosphere. We, the Fischer-Treiber family, have set ourselves the goal of providing you with a carefree and relaxing time out at our hotel at Faaker See.
Our family
and history
Around 40 years ago, a little holiday home was created at our organic farm. After Franz and Franziska, we are already the third generation to take care of the well-being of our guests and the continuation of the organic farm. There have been changes and modernisations, but the soul of the establishment remains unchanged, which can also be felt. Now it is our turn – we bear responsibility for our home, are living a dream and have a wonderful task: we create moments of well-being for your holiday at our organic farm.
At the hotel, as well as our organic farm, we attach importance to “organic”. We cultivate our crops, fruit and vegetables ourselves, under controlled organic conditions already for decades. Our crops, fruit and vegetables for our cuisine at the organic hotel flourishes on our 4-hectare field. Our organic food products go from the garden straight onto your plate. More than Slow Food – the controlled organic cultivation of our products is also important to us. In the interests of our environment, our health and our animals.
Our organic farm is controlled and certified by the Austria Bio Garantie organic seal.
1950
Our organic farm was once one of the ten farms that cultivated the surrounding fields and forests. On the picture you can see the lakeside road in Drobollach at Faaker See with our old farmhouse. In 2015 the house was demolished and replaced by a new building. Today our grandma Klothilde, my parents Franz and Franziska, my brother and his family still live in the multigenerational house.

The start of holiday on the farm. Our great-grandmother Johanna with the first guests in front of the little annex hut. In 1995 the old hut was demolished and our little holiday house was built. Today it houses two holiday apartments for your holiday at Faaker See.

1976
The Faaker See bed and breakfast was established in the middle of the orchard. Klothilde hosted her summer guests with great enjoyment and cordiality. At the time it was the first accommodation in Drobollach at Faaker See with a bathroom and WC adjoining the room. Holiday at the farm with first-class comfort.
1982
Franz found a Franziska. Together with Klothilde, the well-being of guests was taken care of at the Faaker See bed and breakfast. In 1985 Klothilde passed the reins over fully to Franziska. The development into a small hotel with a wellness character started, with an adjoining organic farm. From a bed and breakfast to a Faaker See nature hotel.
1988
The last cow left the farm and from now on there was only organic agriculture and forestry. Since then, Franz has been running his farm under controlled organic conditions. Out of conviction. The first animals to return to the farm were Karina’s horses. Gradually sheep, hens, a cat, goats and hares also joined our farm family. The organic products made are processed directly at the organic hotel. The Slow Food idea together with our organic philosophy thereby create optimal conditions for running our controlled organic farm and your sustainable holiday at the farm.
2013-2019
The Faaker See nature hotel receives its 4* classification and becomes the Biohotel Naturhotel Faaker See. In the meantime, the junior boss Karina has also gathered professional experience in various areas and completed her training and joins her parents’ enterprise full-time. In 2015, Karina takes over the hotel and since then has been running it together with her husband, children and senior boss of the hotel at Faaker See. In 2019 there is a complete rebranding and becomes a member of the “Holiday on the farm” association. The new logo is designed with my sister-in-law and her graphics firm design.factory in Radenthein.
